INTRODUCING
Natalie Grey
Natalie Grey is a self-taught artist with a deep love for colour, texture, and meaning. After earning a distinction in high school art and being selected to exhibit at the Nelson Mandela Art Gallery, her creative journey paused as she focused on business and family life.
In 2020, during lockdown, Grey rediscovered her passion while teaching her children to draw. What began as a simple way to stay creative quickly evolved into a vital part of her daily life. With the support of her husband, she returned to painting; transforming it into a space for reflection, clarity, and expression.
Her work is bold, bright, and joyful, often centred around powerful female figures adorned with floral or patterned headpieces. These motifs reflect her belief that a positive mind shapes a positive life. Alongside this, she explores abstract forms, embracing experimentation and breaking away from traditional expectations of what art should be.
Through layered textures, strong brushwork, and intricate detail, Grey creates pieces that invite closer engagement. While art is not her primary source of income, it remains an essential part of who she is. A practice she hopes brings energy, colour, and positivity into the spaces her work inhabits.
