Ricardo Nieuwoudt Originals

Ricardo Nieuwoudt, born in 1977 in Cape Town, is a self-taught artist based in Cape Town whose work encompasses a variety of themes, including human emotion, social commentary, and everyday scenes, often using metaphor, symbolism, realism, and surrealism.

He works primarily on wood panels or boards to depict the human condition from his personal perspective, drawing inspiration from life experiences, graphic novels, South African art, and European masters. His paintings serve as windows into his view of the world, capturing poses, movements, and life itself. Nieuwoudt has participated in several group exhibitions, notably in 2025 at Everard Read in London celebrating ten years of Summer, and in Cape Town with shows like "Little Life," "The People _CUBICLE series," and "Telling Our Story" in 2014.
