Karin is a multidisciplinary South African artist whose practice spans painting, printmaking, drawing, and digital media. She studied Fine Arts at Wits, specialising in printmaking, and later completed a Master’s in Painting in Europe. Since returning to South Africa in 1996, she has worked as both an artist and educator.

Karin’s work explores themes of deconstruction and reconstruction, often drawing from popular culture to reframe familiar imagery through contrast, layering, and juxtaposition. Her diverse influences—from poetry and film to design and everyday life—inform a dynamic visual language that resists categorisation.

She works fluidly across traditional and digital mediums, including oil and watercolour, etching, ink, and vector-based illustration—always seeking new ways to interpret the world around her.
