INTRODUCING
Daniel Mamatepa
Daniel Mamatepa is a visual artist based in Mokopane, Limpopo. His journey with art began in childhood and deepened during the COVID-19 pandemic, when he reconnected with his creativity in a more intentional way. Daniel’s work is expressive and abstract, exploring texture, layering, and emotion across oil, acrylic, ink, spray paint, and newspaper. Each piece is a conversation, revealing what words cannot.
Passionate about community, Daniel works with young people through workshops that use art as a tool for expression and healing. In 2023, he exhibited in his first group show at the Polokwane Art Museum and was selected as a finalist for the Sasol New Signatures 2025, marking important milestones in his artistic journey. Alongside art, Daniel studies Human Resource Management, which informs both his creative process and engagement with others.
Daniel continues to push his creative boundaries, producing work meant to be felt, questioned, and experienced.
