The artworks in my abstract print series present a multi-layered array of possible realities. The images originated from hand-sized industrial paint scrapers that I had used to apply colour to canvas during the creation of a large body of abstract work. After months of scraping, smearing and mark-making, these metal tools transformed into artworks themselves, as the build-up of paint on their surfaces began to resemble miniature paintings. In much the same way as clouds drift, diffuse and morph into familiar images, the surfaces of the tools began to reveal temporarily recognisable but ultimately abstract visions.
